Julia Ducournau’a second film offers a run-on sentence of a gender-bending body horror thriller about a serial killer model impregnated by a car who then hides from the law by assuming the identity of fireman’s long-lost son. Full of brutality and intimacy in a landscape of malleable flesh and metal, Titane is a visceral and lively meditation on desire, memory, grief, transformation, pregnancy, and fatherhood.
